Mother Killed in Tragic San Bernardino Accident

Two cars were involved in a fatal accident in San Bernardino Sunday morning around 10:50 a.m. Upon arriving on the scene, San Bernardino Police reported a 1997 Toyota Corolla that had collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Impala.

The Corolla was occupied by a family of four, two children in the back seat with mother and father in the front of the car. The father who was driving was identified as 29-year-old Victor Hernandez. He and his two children were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries they received in the crash. Authorities stated that the three will make a speedy recovery.

Hernandez’s wife, 30-year-old Araceli Urbano, unfortunately, sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Police stated that the driver of the Impala bolted from the scene of the accident but was quickly apprehended by officers with the help of witnesses. San Bernardino Police believes that the driver of the Impala, 30-year-old Melvin Jones was high at the time of the accident. He was charged with DUI, hit-and-run, and suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

1 Dead 4 Injured From Minivan and Semi Collision

A man dead and four others left injured after a minivan and a big rig accident in Downey.

The minivan slammed into the big rig killing the 18-year-old passenger of the minivan.

The crash occurred around 11 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Boulevard, north of Florence Avenue.

A Downey resident, a 20-year-old male, was driving southbound on Lakewood Boulevard in a 1997 Chevrolet Astro van before veering into the back of the big rig, which was sitting in the lift turn lane, the Downey Police Department explained.

The minivan ended up wedged under the rig, a tow truck was required to lift the semi off of the minivan, police added.

The 18-year-old man who was killed was a passenger in the minivan and was identified as Isaac Antonio Marroquin.

The other four passengers including the driver of the minivan were taken to local hospitals to address their non-life-threatening injuries.

The 52-year-old driver of the semi was not injured.

San Bernardino Street Race Kills Young Teenager

Wednesday night around 10:00 p.m., police and paramedics responded to an accident that took place at Highland Land and Macy Street in San Bernardino. Police stated that a teenager was racing another vehicle in his 1992 Mitsubishi GT 3000 when he collided head-on with a 2011 Toyota Corolla.  The Corolla was carrying three occupants when the crash occurred.

The teenage driver of the Mitsubishi was identified as 19-year-old Mark Jimenez of San Bernardino, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The three people occupying the Toyota Corolla were taken to a local medical center where they were rushed into emergency surgery due to critical internal injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the Corolla is reported to be in critical condition; he was identified as 23-year-old Francisca Vargas of San Bernardino.

Motorcyclist Charged With DUI After Passenger Killed in Richmond Accident

Richmond Police has charged a 37-year-old motorcyclist with driving outside of restrictions, DUI and aggravated involuntary manslaughter after his passenger was killed in a collision Saturday evening. The accident took place near the 1300 block of E. Main Street around 5:00 p.m. According to the authorities, the motorcyclist was traveling on East Main Street with a female passenger when he smashed into the back of another vehicle.

The 33-year-old female passenger sustained severe injuries after being thrown from the motorcycle and was transported to VCU Medical Center. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries later that night. Police were able to identify her 33-year-old Richmond resident Sarah Weeda.

The 37-year-old motorcyclist was identified as Joe Durham Jr, of Richmond, also received injuries from the accident and is in recovery. It’s very unfortunate that Sarah was killed in this motorcycle. San Jose Street Race Kills 3

Two teenagers and an 18-year-old male were killed Tuesday night, another teenager suffered critical injuries, this occurred after a high-speed crash that was an alleged street race on Santa Clara Street according to San Jose Police Department.

San Jose residents Oscar Avila Toledo, 18, and Jayleen Ciriaco, 15, along with Anthony Ramos, 15, of Gilroy, were all killed during the race. An additional 15-year-old boy is in critical condition in ICU.

Family members came together along the road near the crash and lit candles to remember the teenagers.

Police were responding to two cars speeding westbound on Santa Clara Street at around 11 p.m., Sgt. Domingo Sanchez stated. A gold Honda Accord, one of the vehicles involved in the race, lost control near 22nd Street and collided with a light pole and then later with a tree.

One boy and a girl were declared dead at the scene. The other two boys were hospitalized, Domingo claimed.

Police are still trying to figure out who was actually driving the Honda, which according to investigators, was an unreported stolen vehicle.

Investigators believe the Honda and a dark Acura were racing on Santa Clara Street during the time of the crash. The Acura did not stop and has not been located.

A witness spoke the police claiming she saw the speeding cars, the point of original remains unclear, however, a relative of one of the victim’s believes the race started near the McDonald’s restaurant on 27th Street. Police have not interviewed the surviving teen as of Wednesday afternoon, but investigators believe there was no immediate implication the race was planned previously.

The three deaths bring the number of people who have died in traffic collisions this year in San Jose to 43. Which was also a ten-year all-time high in 2014.

Fatal San Bernardino Accident; Drug and Alcohol Believed Play Major Factor

The accident killed one driver and severely injured another. According to San Bernardino Police, a 2007 Buick was heading east on Third Street when she started to cruise in the westbound lanes. Drunk Driver Survives Crash That Killed Two

A drunken driver survived a fiery car accident in Bay Park this Saturday, the crash killed two passengers. The driver is said to be arrested after his release from a hospital, according to San Diego police Sunday.

Alcohol is an evident factor as the impaired driver veered his vehicle and swerved off Friars Road and struck a boulder. Around 7:30 am. the vehicle’s flames spread to the local brush.

The driver managed to escape the car and only sustained minor cuts and burns.

The families of the two women killed during the crash from Oceanside were notified by a medical examiner, their identities were not publicized.

According to a San Diego County Medical Examiner, a dog also died in the flames.

Friars Road has multiple S-curves in the area, authorities warn drivers to be cautious driving through the area of the crash, and to never drink and drive.

Fatal Collision involving 6 injuries and 1 death in Rosemead

One killed and six others injured during a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Friday in Rosemead, California.

Authorities were on the scene of a deadly traffic collision on Friday that injured six others in Rosemead.

Around 5 a.m., authorities were sent to Rosemead Boulevard and Glendon Way to the report of a multi-vehicle collision.

Upon their arrival, authorities located three vehicles. One of the vehicles had overturned, which subsequently trapped one person inside.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Two other victims were transported to USC Trauma Center, and four additional victims were treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

Accused Drunk Driver Facing Charges In Fatal Crash

The driver involved in the fatal car crash in Carmel Valley that killed a 61-year-old woman from Chula Vista is behind bars Thursday on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter, authorities said.

Anthony Perez Rodriguez, 30, was headed east in the 14100 block of Carmel Valley Road when his Fiat 500 veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 1987 Chevrolet sedan shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to San Diego police.

The victim, 61-year old Enid Mayer, was supposedly driving home after visiting her mother-in-law’s Tuesday night when Anthony Perez Rodriguez suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic, she soon died at the scene.

Rodriguez was not seriously injured and was booked into San Diego Central Jail, with bail set at $100,000.
